Ten years ago today, folks. Never forget! Let's all take a moment to reflect on the past ten years and do a bit of research on what's been happening since.
You are also encouraged to post about the Patriot act, a bit about the wars (mostly use the impeach Bush and Cheney blog) and anything else like baseball/ football memories, memories of that day, etc. Be nice when posting!

UPDATE: 9/3/11
Almost ten years since 9/11 and maybe one or two additional terror attack attempts we heard about (since the NYC Times Square attempt). Also, we killed bin Laden (5-2/3-11) and his #2 recently. Confidence in public officials is now even in both parties regarding terrorism (polls). NOTE: intel gathered, especially from the raids, suggests more attacks possible within the next few weeks (transit is a primary target). See something, say something, folks. Also, DHS no longer uses the color system: they rely on intelligence (not the smart people variety). Be safe and God Bless America!!! Never forget 9/11 and honor them in 7 days!

First Post
There has not been a major or even successful (high casualty) terror attack against the USA since 9/11. Only 2 attempts have been made (U.F. Abulmutallab - 12/25/09; and F. Shizhad around 5/1/10) and were ultimately unsuccessful. There are many questions to ask, but let me give the polling numbers:
1. Confidence in Party to prevent terrorist attacks: 29% confidence in Democrats; 49% confidence in Republicans (MoE: 3%)
2. US Fed Govt doing all it can to prevent terror attacks?: 45% - yes; 49% - no (MoE: 3%)
3. Are homeland security officials lucky or effective against terrorists? 33% effective; 49% lucky (MoE: 3%)
So, what can we do? Think of police departments, federal government, airline industry, TSA, customs and border protection, watch lists, surveillance, average citizens, etc.
This is a discussion on preventing terror attacks and security. Any topic relating to this (bioterror, Gitmo, nuclear terror, train and federal building bombings, homegrown terrorists, radical muslims, U.S. involvement in Middle East affairs (Iraq/ Afghanistan), etc.) is accepted.
